Please introduce yourself – What does your start-up do and what is special about your business idea?
DeliFair condiment sauces by Fair Karma are made from fair trade organic natural ingredients. DeliFair is the first organic sauce worldwide to achieve a Fairtrade certification.
Sauces are composed of hand-picked ingredients from all over the world. The recipes are created by experimenting with different flavours at the kitchen counter.
The start-up bases its work on the principles of fair trade, following fair conditions for the smallholders’ organization.
Fair Karma offers high quality products and promotes fair deals with producers in some of the poorest parts of the world. This is what sets our product range apart from other conventionally produced products.
How did you come up with the concept?
We first came up with concept through our passion for the sauce market and knowledge of Fair-trade.
Because of this we very quickly saw a gap in the market for Vegan + Organic + Glutenfree sauces, that also consider fair trade regulations.
What were the biggest challenges you had to overcome on your start-up path?
To find reliable producers who could provide us with organic + fairly traded ingredients
And where is it going – where do you see the start-up in five years?
We want to make DeliFair available in all international markets and make Fairtrade organic the new standard of the sauces category. We want to generate a significant business for our Fairtrade farmers and make the world a little bit more fair.
What are your expectations from the NX-FOOD program?
We expect a hands-on innovative collaboration working together to drive Fair trade in the industry.
