Please introduce yourself: What does your start-up do?

My name is Stefan Kimmel, I’m a chef and nutritionist. We have developed a unique liquid low-carb meal based on meat and vegetables which you can eat as you go, take to work for your lunch break or cook at home as a warm meal.

How did you come up with an idea and concept? What inspired and motivated you to create this product?

We have been looking for a product that combines meat with vegetables, can be consumed cold and has a long shelf life when uncooled. As there was nothing like this on the market, it took us three years to develop our own solution. In January 2018 we launched three products on the market.

How often does it happen that you barely have time to eat or spend your entire day running around? Instead of snacking with fast food, you can bring along our healthy meal. If you have a bit more time, mix pasta with our liquid vegetables, add a bit of cheese and you have a perfect noodle casserole.

 

 

What is unique about your business idea and operating model?

Pete and Phil’s is one of a kind product registered for a patent, it has no competitors. 

What were the most significant difficulties you had to overcome while building your start-up?

To combine all the ingredients in a bottle without using chemicals, additives and flavour enhancers. 

Where do you see yourselves and your company in 5 years?

We hope that our drinking meal will be widely used wherever and whenever people need it.

 

 

What are your expectations from the NX-FOOD Start-up Shelf programme?

We hope that the programme helps us get established in the market and reach the people who will appreciate our products.

What are your main milestones and achievements?

We have invested 1,6 million euros and 3 years into product development. Pete & Phil’s is currently available in 210 stores, around 180 000 bottles have been sold so far.

June 2018 — Launch in Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands
