Our mission: to enrich and inspire the food system.

Today, 50 percent of us live in urban centres, and this figure will rise to nearly 80 percent by 2050. The process of urbanization also means growth in resource consumption in these centers, which are dependent on importing resources. This will lead to longer supply chains, resulting in increasing amounts of food waste.

As the earth’s population grows, our food supply needs to match. Our collective challenge is to manage this change and to take a forward-looking approach:

Encourage innovations, promote sustainable living, and move with change.

It’s a fact that food is no longer all about taste. It is far more than that. Today, food plays a greater role in the area of health than in the past. Diets are becoming lifestyles. Advances in food technology are providing innovative solutions to minimize food waste, to fight environmental pollution, as well as to find new protein-rich replacements.

All these shaping factors are giving rise to new ways of eating in order to make our foodscape more sustainable. And they will define our future plates.
