Please introduce yourselves: What does your startup do?
We wanted to create an energy drink which gives you not only energy but also vitamins and minerals in a natural way. Therefore we designed a bottle which comes with a #kiqstick.
The kiqstick is responsible for:
ENERGY KIQ: Natural energy suppliers like guarana and green tea have a high proportion of well-tolerated caffeine with a long-lasting effect.
PROTECTION KIQ: Kiqstick protects superfood vitamins and minerals from damage caused by light, carbon acid, oxygen, heat or moisture.
NATURAL KIQ: Vitamins, minerals and antioxidants are completely preserved and activated shortly before consumption.
CONSTANT KIQ: Energieliebe always tastes equally well and has a perfect proportion, unlike the self-mixed superfood drinks that can change their taste due to improper storage conditions or mineral reactions caused by overheating.
We don't use any preservatives, artificial flavours, stabilizers, colourants or sweeteners — Energieliebe is all natural!
How did you come up with an idea and concept? What inspired and motivated you to create this product?
Superfoods and helicopters. Our story tells you how it goes together.
Alexander Neumann, CEO of 2KIQ and helicopter pilot, worked on international humanitarian relief missions, in Haiti, Kenya, Republic of South Sudan and other countries. He flew for non-governmental Organizations (NGO) like Médecins Sans Frontières, International Committee of the Red Cross and Ein Herz für Kinder.
Shifts of up to 12 hours long in an overheated cockpit without enough breaks and food were not uncommon. Flying and especially ensuring a safe landing in the remote areas or civil war zones required Alexander’s utmost concentration.
Apart from the responsibility for the passengers on board, Alexander took on a mission to supply people in need with medicine, food and other relief goods. Ferry flights from Germany to Africa were not less demanding or challenging. There was no chance to think of dietary food and have a regular rest during the long flights.
To remain awake and concentrated during the humanitarian aid missions, Alexander consumed up to seven energy drinks per day. Very quickly he started suffering from nausea, dizziness, trembling, insomnia and rapid heartbeats.
As the situation got worse, Alex tried to mix a natural alternative based on a wide variety of mineral vitamin- and nutrient powders. Back then he also consumed superfoods for the first time. Alexander mixed the dietary supplements with green and black tea (for the necessary amount of caffeine) shortly before consuming. However, the effort required was too immense.
Suddenly he came up with an idea to create a natural and energizing stimulant. This is how Energieliebe was born.
