NX-FOOD PROGRAM | FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS NX-FOOD?
NX FOOD offers startups the opportunity to get a 3-month test listing in our startup shelves at real,- and METRO Cash & Carry Germany (“MCCD”) to validate their products in the market. The purpose of the program is to help entrepreneurs/ startups evolve from a proof-of-concept to proof-of-market and provide METRO´s customers with innovative products.
WHO CAN APPLY?
We are looking for food & beverage startups, founded no more than 3 years ago and have a marketable product. Our particular areas of interest with regards to the program include but are not limited to the following themes: Super Food, Slow Food, Homekitchen, New Classics, Nose To Tail Eating, Cradle To Cradle, Local & Seasonal Food, DIY Food, Fast Casual, InfiniteFood, Spiritual Food, Curated Food, Molecular Cooking, Cultured Meat & Fish, Dairy-Free Milk & Cheese, Gluten Fee Baked Eggs, Flavouring Substitutes, Egg Substitutes, Animal Free Gelatin, Meat Substitutes, Liquid Meals, Hybrid Food, Functional Food, Sugar Free, Alternative Protein, Handcrafted Food, Food Substitutes, New Food Solutions.
HOW DO I APPLY?
Applications to the program can only be submitted online, by completion of the form at www.nx-food.com. Once an application has been submitted, it cannot be modified in any way and H.d will not be responsible for any incomplete applications or applications not received, not recognised, not accepted for any reason or delayed.
WHEN IS THE DUE DATE FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE NEXT BATCH AND WHEN DOES IT START?
The applications are now open. The last date of submission is December 15th 2017. The batch at the startup shelf will begin Feb 18th 2018.
HOW ARE STARTUPS SELECTED FOR THE STARTUP SHELVES?
An independent jury for each channel (real,- & MCCD) with representatives from HoReCa Digital, real,- and METRO C&C, will review all applications to select the finalists who will receive a 3-month test-listing in our startup shelves. The final applicants may be invited to meet with representatives from the selection team either virtually or in person in order to make a presentation to the selection team, with reasonable expenses being met by the startups.
AM I A WINNER?
The winners will be notified by email and/or telephone, approximately one month from the beginning of the batch. For further details, refer to program T&C.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE 3-MONTH TEST LISTING?
After the 3-month test listing, the jury decides, based on key performance indicators and customer feedback, whether the product gets listed in the general assortment or not.
